I don't know the average age on PH, but when your children grows up and wants to wed, will you be doing a traditional Hmong wedding for them?

Not married nor do I have any kids but in a perfect world, I would like to still carry on a traditional wedding. However, I don't know what the future holds. I might want one thing but my kids might want another. Besides, I don't know enough about wedding rituals to carry one out. Maybe I should get started on my research.

I would educate my children on it, but I would leave it up to them. Passing my Hmong clothes on though, for sure.

I would like my children to have the following marriage tradition:

1.   Proposal.

2.   Engagement.

3.   Wedding.

 :)

most definetly i will not only have a hmong wedding for my children but also enroll all my children in some  sort of hmong history class and also enroll them in any activity that deals with the hmong culture so that even tho they may not understand why they will later in live appreciate the benefits of what i'm doing for them they can stand high and let people know i'm hmong and this is my traditional ritual :-*

For my kids, it will be a blend.  Because we, as individuals, are not islands.  We still have families, and as long as the clan system exists, there are certain bases that still have to be covered.  But we have resources and income that our parents did not.  Therefore, we can make future weddings modernized, and as long as you present everything in an impressive fashion, very few will question.
