Koreans can not married someone with the same lastname either until recently when the Kim are over populated. The KIMs made up of 1/3 of Korean population so they change the law so a Kim can marry another Kim. I think Hmong need to follow the Korean because there are way too many Yangs and Vangs.

Same clan marriage that got disowned and become a new clan. Can someone name all those same clan marriage that got renamed to other clans? For example; Lor married Lor and become Pha.

Lol. You are so misinformed of the Lauj-Phab connection.
The clans swore a blood oath to be brothers against the Chinese.
Trust me, this was an issue when I became interested in a Pha.
Parents nipped that idea right out.
"Can't do that! He is like your brother. Stop it right now!"  ::)
That's also why 50% of us Hmoob Lauj are much more different looking from other Hmong clans.
For more info, google the Lo-Pha society.

But what about a Vang-Fang/Kue-Thao society though  ;)

Also incorrect. If you are a Kim from the same town as another Kim, its taboo to date each other because they can trace their relations back in the family register. Some families even take it to the same province :P

Who cares. We Hmong can trace a lot of last names back to when we all lived in Laos. That means nothing. We are all cousins in that sense. Just do what makes you happy. No one billion year old rule is going dictate who I want to marry.

vangs and yangs make beautiful babies :)  my husband told me while we were still talking that vangs and yangs make the best couple, and so here we are...he's a yang and i'm a vang.
