1 dead at Fresno Water Festival
« on: May 29, 2010, 08:16:09 PM »
A young man was killed in a fight this afternoon in southwest Fresno during a large festival, police said.

Officers on foot patrolling the Water Festival investigated complaints at about 1:40 p.m. of a fight at the Fresno Regional Sports Park, where the Water Festival is being held this weekend.

When they arrived, about two dozen young people scattered, according to Fresno police Lt. Burke Farrah.

Police found the victim, who was unconscious, and performed CPR. He was brought to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Farrah said. Police are not releasing his name or other details, other than to say that he appears to be in his teens or early 20s.

Police are talking with the event organizers to determine whether the event will be canceled Sunday, Farrah said.

OMG. Does anyone know who this kid is?

No idea. At this point it's not even sure if the victim is Hmong or not.

I bet hmong peeps can't even take out the ABz if they really get into a war. Police will eventually let it happen... Taking on their own race is a p**sy...

dang.
i hate to hear of this kind of news.
i don't care if people fight and die, but just not at an event where people go and enjoy themselves.
they are ruining fun for everyone, and ruining the time and effort put into setting up the event.

Asians make up probably less than 1% of the prison population. That's why they have to stick together in prison to survive. It's so stupid how you and me are going to kill each other but then if we do end up in the slammer we are going to be buddy buddy, especially when you were the reason I am in here. STUPID! Why don't you just be buddy buddy on the outside and be free.

Hopefully one day people will get brains and actually realize there is so much more to do with your life.

i don't understand why some people still attend these kind of events knowing these things can and will happen...and plus these event organizers, they dont care about safety, they care about making money and buying that new toyata previa van...haha

If one of my family members die or get seriously injure at such an event. I will surely find a good lawyer and sue the event organizers for lack of proper security.

You and I both think alike.  What's the point of being friends on the inside when they can be friends on the outside.  I don't get it either.  You are also correct that Asians are just a small, small percentage in the prison world.  Mexicans, Blacks, and White are the largest population.  In Prison, the Prison Gangs are based solely on RACE...NOTHING ELSE.

It don't matter if they have good security or good.  IF something is mean to happen it will happen to matter what.  It not like you have a security at every corner or gate and even if you do.......it only take a few seconds or minutes and anything can happen right in front of your eyes.......... ....

One thing I do hate is that almost every Hmong events there is always something going on and especially just hate when you see or witness a fight.  Hmong people is still in a society where they think being in a gang or having confrontion with someone else is .............. ..  It will take some years before you start seeing Hmong event becoming peaceful where everybody just go and enjoy a nice day or day without having to hear or see that soemthing happened.

I was one of the family that was stuck sitting out there waiting for almost 4-6 hours before we can leave the ground because our car was in the area of the crime scene.  I even spoke to the officers too.

The next day........... they had the Hmong security people tell every car to open/pop thier trunk.  I was like.......... .they are not even checking it good enough and just a quick peek and not searching so they don't need to be doing it.  If they are worry about weapon or anything being bring inside to the event thenn they need to do a better job........... ....

I didn't know many Hmong people celebrated this in America. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the water festival actually the Laos New Year?
