"Tsis pom dej dag ces siab tsis nqig"

How would one translate the saying "tsis pom dej dag ces siab tsis nqig" into english? And what is it's meaning? Anyone knows?

no, NOT "lying river"  ::)    :idiot2:   ;D ... in Hmoob its a figure of speech. .... "dag" in this term = daj (the color yellow; hence the yellow river)

u guys ever heard of the hmoob word: "Tooj Dag" ??  ..... it means BRASS (as in the the alloy metal) "dag" here is referring to the yellow color but when its paired up with the word "tooj" there is an inflection on its TONE. thus "daj" is pronounced "dag".

This saying actually refers to the "Yellow River" in China.  Supposedly it's one of the "famous" rivers in South Western China where Moob people lived.

I had always thought it meant waterfall. but I have to agree with yellow river... it only make sense.....lol

You are right. But they should have called it Mud River instead, huh?

I wonder if it's a good river for fishing.

All right. Are you suggesting we forgo our tilapias? ;D

I'm gonna do some more research into the fish there, to see if the Chinese actually eat them. I'm sure they do. I would think by all of these centuries the Chinese have found wants to clean them up.
