I think the Hmong candidates should have a hmong caucaus amongst themselves to have a real chance to consolidate and save money on their campaigns and also the winner shohld have Mee Mouas endorsement..

With these initial info, I'll probably vote for Foung or Thomas Hilber, the banjo player if I could. From my observations, career politicians or people that have been involved in politics more are usually more cancerous.
Right.

True. They need to talk so that they do not take away one another's votes and lose the primary. We need at least one Hmong to hang through the primary in order for another Hmong to have any chance of winning Mee Moua's seat. I think Mee Moua will withhold her endorsement until the primary is over. The winner will get her endorsement for sure. For now, Foung Hawj has Kazoua Kong-Thao and Bao Vang's endorsements. These are the other two powerful Hmong women politicians in the Twin Cities.

Well I hope people vote on merit and not base on clan system. You would not want to put a dum-dum in the senate seat.

Foung sounds like a REALLY good guy! I heard him speak about wanting to be the next senator to represent the district and also give Hmong a voice. Everybody should know that Foung represents his district like Mee Moua did, and not HMONG only.

Foung is a good guy and has excellent relationship w/the Hmong community. He's not only a brother to look up to, but a leader who stand by his words. As someone mention, Foung might outdo the other Hmong candidates but we'll see how he stand with the other candidates.

Sad but that just how it is in most elections I've seen. It's not so much based on a 'clan' system with other groups but the republicans still vote republican and democrats still vote democrat generally even if the other candidate is better. It's not so much what you know but who you know especially in the wacky world of politic.

they did have a meeting before when there was only 3 hmong running at Cy Thao's house and he told them that maybe they should narrow it down to 1 so that the chances of having a hmong person in the seat was higher. But of course, no one wanted to withdrawl and they all believe that they will become the next senator.

If you had just one chance at something, would you let it go? I think that is what was on their minds, no? Rather fight dead and alive and lose; there's more glory in that than not having fought at all and just giving up on it, right? But I still think one Hmong has a better chance if all 4 agree to support just one of them.

What's the background of these individuals running in the primary? I only ask, since I'm not familiar w/MN.
Who are they? What's their views on topics such as abortion, stem cells, guns, religion, gays, etc? What is their current job, and what job(s) did they have prior to that one?
....Just to name a few

You need serious $$ to win. That's all I know. Let's hope the rich Hmong men will back them up. I know we have some rich Hmong people in the TC.

It's all about return on investments in politics these days. You give a lot to a candidates campaign, and when elected, they reward you with no bid contracts or rewards. It's the power of the special interests. That's the power when something passes into law, people are like WTF?

You know, I should be the one to provide all these backgrounds about the candidates. But I just haven't had the time to dig them up. Hopefully, someone will put some info out soon. What's the background of these individuals running in the primary? I only ask, since I'm not familiar w/MN.

I was at a family event this weekend and Cha Yang was there to make a speech. It was a Yang event so of course all the Yangs are already lining up, backing him up... Never even heard of the guy.
