compliment or insult???

I was wondering has anyone had a similar experience...t his is a conversation my cousins and I had with an aunty of mine at a function...

Aunty: You, cousin #1, cousin #2 and cousin #3 should be happy that you guys have always been ugly.

Us: Why?

Aunty: Because as the years progress you have all remain the same, whereas the girls who blossom early we thought they were so pretty back than and now they are not as good looking as you guys...

WTF?...I did not know whether to be insulted or take it as a compliment.... hahaha...LOL

Reverse backhanded compliment. A backhanded compliment is compliment first and insult second. A reverse backhanded compliment is insult first and compliment second.
