Dog sniffs out 23 lbs. of opium

CHICAGO — "Rambo", a drug-sniffing dog, discovered more than 23 pounds of opium at O'Hare Airport.

The opium was concealed in a variety of items: hand sewed tablecloths, hats, soaked twigs, and decorative ornaments, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office in Chicago.

The drugs, which were discovered last week, were suppose to be on their way to Minneapolis, officials said.

Rambo found the drugs while working with a Customs and Border Protection officer at the airport's foreign mail facility.

There was also a similar situation like this about 2-3 weeks ago where I believe it was the same dog who sniffed out opium soaked twigs, which were from Thailand headed to Milwaukee. I'm too lazy to go search for the story though.

Yeah, I keep wondering if it actually makes money. I don't know anyone who wants it...or are people just not saying things to me? With this frenzy of stealth shipments into the U.S., there's gotta be a big reason for it, right? Or are the American medicines failing its citizens?

I'm not sure if that is what Hmong people use it for but in general they use opium for heroin. Heroin = a lot of money.
