If you all posted the original source of your news stories.

1. Adds credibility to your thread

2. Gives credit where credit is due (to the journalist who wrote it).

You are right. True journalism requires citing to the original sources and giving credits to all of the contributors. That's why when I think a piece of news is important, I get out there and cover it myself rather than just read another news source and report on that.

I was talking about in this forum. I see ppl posting up articles but some of them do not have the source linked or the author of the article listed.

We have not made it a rule for everyone that posts here to also include the link. However, each person posting here should know that their stories or articles will be more convincing and credible if the actual sources are also posted.  We also do not have the time to verify everything, so we feel that the person who posts a news piece should make sure he/she is credible. We will verify things if needed. People should include whatever sources they feel will make their stories credible to the readers.

One other thing is this:  people who witness news first-hand can just report the news as they see it without any link.
