Maum Kawv or Maum Kauv?  Maum Kauv is a female deer also known as a doe.

You are right, too.

This kind of question will bring in many answers, depending on what the readers know. People who claim it's Maum Kawv are saying that just because that's the only one most Hmong in the community have been talking about. There are many other animals that are female in name or behaviors, etc.

If it's just terminology then the lady bug is one.

If it's a matter of having organs, then the spotted hyenas are one wierd creature.  The clits on the females are long like a penis.

...And now a word to my Hmong Republicans.  Are you sick and tired of poor people on welfare doing better than you?  Hey! I got some news for you.  If they're on welfare and they're doing better than you, you're amongst the poor and guess what? Mitt Romney doesn't care about you.

I'm sure terminology has a lot to do with it. A maum kawv comes in both sexes.
