Is it part of the tradition...or is it for the welfare money?
I'll tell you what I think after you share me your thoughts.

It's not tradition nor is it for the welfare checks. 

It was for survival purposes back in the days. The more kids or family you had the more properous you were.  More family=more hands to help out. at home, on the fields, hunting, collecting etc..

Here in the U.S. it's just lack of education. Education on using contraceptives . Plain simple as that.. !
