At my church there these two elders that against most of our decisions. Even when majority already agreed on a decision but when these two elders disagree we can't make the decision because peb ntshai tsam nkawd tu siab. How can we advance when we give too much respect for some elders?

Then maybe we should start practicing the marjority vote rule instead, but I am sure some of the elders will probably disagree to that too... Oh well.. can't win all.

hehehe, since this is a church problem i can help u. If ur church is Part of the "HKM Cma" then u ask for the District Supervisor of the youth(or the whole CMA, to give a letter of recommendation to y u guys need to do what u want to do, and how its gonna help ur youth and the church. If u present that to the elders. They will have no reasons to not give in to the reasoning. Hmong people run on ranks, if their rank is higher than u, their decisions is better than urs, therefore, u just have to find the person whos rank is higher than theirs

The rank thing is what got me. These two elders that mentioned above are the two that kinda start off the congregation too. But the thing is when time past, people change. The problem is they won't allow the changes. They are way too conservative. Even though majority want to change, they won't allow. This is why our church never grow.

That's why it should always be a majority vote thing, and if those 2 elders cannot get enough ppl to support their old ways, then too bad. Times a changing and if don't get with the program, you get left behind or ppl just leave the congregation.

Try to make them understand the needs. If they started the congregation, they probably feel that everyone else must do things their way since everyone else is using what they created!

all i have to say is that if your reasons, ideas are better than theirs not meaning just personal but better that will make the whole group can go another step then say something about it , if it isn't any better don't bother fighting and argue.

if you can talk and walk then go for it..if you're just all talk and can't walk without them then just sit down and shut up..because you can't do what you say you're just gonna lose face to everyone and everyone is going to laugh at you...
ex. "look at that guy, when we have a meeting..he said this and that ..look now..where is he? or where are we..have we make any progress..? that guy is all talk.."

Sorry to hear such a thing about your church. Are you talking about the whole congregation against 2 elders? I don't understand, explain more...
