What's up with this culture.. Hmong time??

You might ask, what is Hmong time? Well, Hmong time is to arrive one hour after the scheduled time. For example; if the scheduled time is 12 PM, you arrive at 1 PM. This is Hmong time. So how do we change this?

Just tell them, with or without you, we're leaving....lea ve them a couple times and they'll change their watch to the universal time.

If you start on time and that special someone that is late happenned to be your close relatives, like in-laws or aun't and uncle, then they will say that how come you didn't wait for them. You have to wait for them to come and sit at the front of the table.

It all comes down to respect - on both sides.

The late ppl do not respect the other ppl's time and effort in putting together the party or event.  so they take their time and don't give a rats ass if they are late.  Also, hmong ppl just suck at preparing in advance to go somewhere.

The ppl hosting the event have too much respect to start the party before certain respected ppl arrive.  However, they are also disrespecting everyone else that showed up on time.

What hmong ought to do is not to make so much food. If you make too much food, then they know that no matter how late they are they still get food. hehehe

Means "Indian Standard Time." We have or own standard time, because we always show up about 1-2 hours late to everything.
If you're havin a party at 2, expect us to be there around 3:30.

If you want us to be at your party at 2, then tell us it starts at 12.

is the reason for starting 1 hour late because the guests are not there or because the host is not ready?

the only way to beat this is to actually start on time with or without your guests. doing this consistently will send the right message.
