STILLWATER, Minn. (WCCO) ― Two young men are in jail Saturday night accused of killing a St. Paul man.
Dao Xiong was arrested and booked on second degree Murder. An accused accomplice, Keng Thao, was also arrested. Both are 19 years old.
Xiong and Thao were found after tips from the public led them to the 6900 block of Upper 35th Street in Oakdale. Inside they found enough evidence to take Xiong into custody.
He is accused of shooting 33-year-old Youa Lor in a remote area of Lake Elmo. Lor was found near the 8800 block of 55th Street North Thursday afternoon. He was taken to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police are not saying what they found in the Oakdale home or if the men know each other. They do believe they know why Lor was a target.
"We are stating that it is a robbery, it's a homicide investigation and we're going from there," said Commander Daniel Starry with the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Charges against Xiong and Thao are expected Monday.
