question for you computer geeks?
« on: October 04, 2010, 03:09:06 PM »
...lately my computer's been shutting off and restarting by itself...when it shuts off, it shows a blue screen with all these details saying blah blah is corrupt and it's shutting down do to prevent this and that and for various other reasons.  When it starts up again, it gives the options to restart it by "safe mode" or "normally."  I been selecting it to restart normally...and the problem still persist and hasn't gone away.

Would it have anything to do with me using Norton Security Suite and disabling the back files?.

Im using windows 7, why does keep crashing like that?

My pc is running great still, it's just that it's doing that, hope it's nothing too serious to worry about.

Could be anything from bad memory to power source.  Could be driver issues, virus, and so forth.  I hate dealing with blue screen of death.  I just put Linux on any computer that give me blue screen.

When I just got my laptop it did that too. So I took a back to let the geek fix it but he gave me a new laptop instead.

Same thing happened to me the other day. I installed Creative software on my VAIO which triggered a BSOD. I rebooted, went in to Safe Mode and uninstalled the software.
