In Laos and Thailand, the only reason you would commit suicide is that you were force to marry someone you didn't like.  A man in our building wanted to marry a second wife and his relatives said no.  He drunk poison and he was rushed to the hospital.  After that, the relatives let him marry his second wife.

My mom said some Hmong people who lived behind the bridge saw the girl hanging but thought it was a hoax since it was close to Halloween, so they just left her hanging for days until the dad of the household decided to venture out and indeed it was a Hmong girl.

thats not true.  i personally know the people who live close to the bridge.  they are the one that told me about her.  it was early sunday morning (about 7 or 8 AM) and the father took the dog out for a walk.  when he got close to the bridge he saw something suspended under the bridge.  he thought it was a halloween hoax.  when he got closer, it appeared to be a body.  he got scared and went back home to get family members.  he and his kids came back and they confirmed it was a body so they called the police right away.  at the time, her body was facing towards the apartments that she was living so they did not see her face.  they did not know she was hmong until a couple days later they met her parents who came to the place to lay some flowers.  so form the time she hung herself until the time her body was found was probably 6 or 7 hours.

i know wat happen.. my mother told me that she live with the meekas and took care of his 3 kids then the meekas dude dont want her any more she moved back to live with her parents.  her parents wont accept her. hahaes at her that all this time she live with a meekas and be with him y dont she just go and stay there and dont come back home they dont want her any more and blah blah all these hahaing i guess she has no way out, but to end her own life.  i guess she is hurt enough frm the meekas not wanting her and now her own birth parents dnt want her..  tat is one thing i hate bout hmong parents they rather save their face even though they know how hard it is going to impact their kids... dang parents y can't they be more open and welcoming when ur at ur hardest!

dont u just love rumors and nope thats not what happen. My aunt and uncle told her she was welcomed to come back anytime. They might of been hard on her in the past but they loved her they would never do anything like that not our family.

My speculation is that either she wants in or wants out with that meeka dude and the situation gotten too complicated and too difficult for her to cope with.

All I know is if she and that meeka dude was still happy and in love that would have never happened.

No way !!  How can a body be hanging on a bridge for days when motorists are passing by it every minute?  Or was it even on a highway bridge?

No Regret: I agree also that Hmong parents rather save their faces than saving their own children. This is also one big thing I hate about the Hmong people. Forsure I will not carry this type of treatments to my kids.
