Take a look at this image at close range.  Read it.

Now go back, way back from your screen.  Read it.

Try moving your mouse pointer down across this image, following the pointer closely with your eyes. You should see a rippling effect moving through the picture -- even though it's a completely static image!

Can you tell which of these cars is the largest?

Now use your finger as a guide and measure them.  The largest is the one to the right.

This one is a trip.  If you stare long enough or stare then look down at your keyboard then look up and do this often enough, you will see the cat spinning in both directions.  Weird I know.

Stare at the center of this simple animation and you'll be convinced you're seeing a green circle moving around the edge. But are you?

Stare at the red dot long enough, and the grey stripes will disappear.

Stare at the moon long enough, and the stars should begin to fade away. How many can you get to disappear?

I only got the spinning cat thing to work once, then it didn't work anymore.  Now it only spins in one direction lol.

The reason we think the last car is the biggest is because our brains are wired to perceive depth. The further something is the smaller it appears and the closer something is the bigger it appears.

So essentially our brain thinks that if we take that last car and pull it up next to the closest vehicle it would get bigger and become bigger than the first car but it doesn't because this is a picture, 2D.
