how to cut hmong paper money for the deceased
« on: December 20, 2010, 09:46:48 AM »
So... I've been searching online to see if anyone did a tutorial on how the elderly cut those paper money when you burn to the deceased.
I couldn't find anything. Does anyone know how to cut them? if so pictures pls.

I'm not talking about the boat money yeej kuam yaj kuam (there's a youtube for this). The long kind where it is long and twisted at the top a little.
I can't remember how to do it correctly. It's confusing when you fold the big paper in half and then its like you have to cut it at a certain angle.

Yes, I know that. However, I don't live close by so I have to learn how to cut them I can't cheat and use the premade one.

I think you are referring to those use during huas qhua or something.  You can get the premade one already or buy your own paper and do it.  They cost about $20 for 10 sheet and you probably spend about $100-200 just buying for the adults and for the children/grandchildren the small paper are only $1 each.  During my fil's funeral....... ..his uncle son actually spend time doing it for us and making different cut as much as he can and create his own.
