I went to the Fairground one first today. A lot less people, vendors than last year. VP couldn't gave a speech instead let his son Tsav did and that pissed a lot of peeps. The stage was nice and big like last year. Speakers were booming just like every year and seems like nothing new. I found most attendees were out of town, or out of state because many asked me where's the other one at. The sports tournament was a big flop with the exception of Badminton indoor. There was only one soccer field and a few volleyball courts in an ugly muddy place. I don't think a lot of attendees even realized there was a sports tournamennt going on there. The seating was quite nice because it's in the horse tracks during Fair time. I think if it wasn't the rain then it would have been a nice venue.
As for the one on Sports complex - I got there like 1:30p. It took me half a hour to get parking and it was free. It was pretty safe facility because one has to drive at least a mile to get to the complex. Here are my negative and positive views about the new one. Ticket booths are so self made from plywood and it was easy to get in instead of long line. The complex is so spread out that you don't feel the crowding like at Fairground. Booths were set up nicely around the streets and you can easily walk from one to the other with less crowds. I found most locals and athletes attend this one once I got to the sports fields. There were a lot of ethusiam on flag footballs, Soccers. Got to see a few flashy soccer games between Tornado vs. Chico, Silver Hawk vs. Lao mix with Hmong from Modesto and Chico, Punisher vs. forgot the other team. There were a lot of people watching flag football and Soccer. I have to admit the huge tents they setted up was disappoinment. They're too small to be like a conference or entertainment room. They should have setted up an open stage but at least this is their first year.
