Who gets to elect? That's a funny question. Like every other Hmong organization out there, be related or friends with them. In the Hmong world, it's not what you know, it's who you know. If you have people in high places then you will go high in life.

yep, just look at the vang rep with 18xeeb.  before the NY it was a guy, but he didn't agree with them starting another NY and abstained from voting or joining their meetings on the subject.  needless to say, there's now a girl rep for vangs in 18xeeb.  similar story for at least 5 other clan reps who didn't agree with starting another NY. 

 

Funny 'cause I saw all males representing the clans at the opening ceremony of the UHINY. ;D

WASNT THERE THIS WHOLE CONTROVERSY ABOUT THIS IN MN, DURING THE ELECTIONS THERE WAS A SNOW STORM, TIME PERMITTED VOTERS TO VOTE AND IT GOT CLOSED EARLY.  IS THIS TRUE?  EVEN WITH THIS WHOLE 18 CLAN ELECTION THING, THE DEATH OF GVP HAS GREATLY IMPACTED THE THREADS THAT HOLD OUR HMONG PEOPLE TOGETHER.
