You may be right.  However, the "buying land for the Hmong" is more logically sound then "taking Laos back".  It's tough but it's something that is possibly doable under the right leaderships and support.  Take to a smaller scale and you have that Hmong Vet Memorial in Fresno....duri ng the process you had a lot of sketical people, but now it's a true sitting memorial.  Buying land is a clearer vision....taki ng over a country...not so clear.

the best scams are those that are the most logically sound.  to make it even better, you make it appeal to the wants and needs of a section of people.  who's the scamer: the hustler playing 3 card monte or the high profile investment manager like madoff, or mortgage brokers?  they're all scamers, one just seems more legit than the other.

"buying land for the (insert ethnicity here)" has been played out with other ethnicities.  when will we learn not to trust these swindlers.  just because someone screams and yells the loudest, it doesn't mean they know more than the next person.  real estate purchase in the context they want, takes a lot of planning, development, and MONEY.  you don't just wing it and hope everything falls into place.  you have to be responsible and set up contigency plans for if you can't complete the project.  you have to be doubly responsible because your target audience is mainly made up of people on public assistance.  i have no problems with 18xeeb asking for support, what I do have a problem with is how they are going about it.

senseless argument, no need, it was a outrageous, silly sting operation, case was dismissed due to lack of evidence

18 clan never scamed anyone.  They said all along it was a donation only so it's up to you.

You are missing the argument as this is not refering to that sting...rememb er the "fund" promise of getting something in Laos once the country is ours again?  My father in law (a Vang) and his side of the family have given thousands to this "magical" fund....I guess my father in law got smart after a few years and stopped giving.  I my dicitonary I call that being scammed...bein g dumb on their end taken into condisderation . :idiot2:

That's why I stated that it's POSSIBLY POSSIBLE under the RIGHT LEADERSHIP and SUPPORT (both HINY and 18 Clan/UHI are not there).  The vision is just trying to buy a piece dirt so we can toss balls not building a spaceship to fly to the moon.  If ANY organization has that proper structure to do it, I'll be the first one to donate the $1,000....to me that's not a lot of money.  I think we have a lot of middle/upper class families and business owners that will be willing do donate, given that all is in the proper place.  My support is for ANY organization with a taste of progressive vision...wheth er it's HINY or 18 Clan.

And YES, if you donate and things don't turn out as expected don't call it a scam....purely due to the term of "donation".  However, you are right that one should also research all things to make sure every dollar dontated is worth the gift.

I heard that 18 xeem is trying to advance the Hmong culture.  There are many rules regarding marriages and other cultural rituals developed and everyone has to follow them.

I don't know, I am not a government activist.  I don't see the connection and relationship.  I prefer independence.. .so until one leader can truly support his/her people without a cause, then I would like to remain neutral.
