I was reading the schedule/agenda for GVP's funeral this coming weekend and saw that the Royal Lao Family is due to give a speech during his funeral. Is this not the same Laotion people or have any relations to the Laotion gov't in Laos who is hunting down our Hmong people over there? Yes, I admit I'm completely clueless with Hmong politics so that's why I'm asking
SheSaid, the Royal Lao Family is the former Lao king's family. Royal means
monarch, meaning
king. or
Huab Tais in Hmong. That's the family that sided with VP and the rest of the Western fighters. Like VP, the Royal Lao Family is now ousted as well.
The current reigning regime is the Lao People's Democractic Republic (LPDR). That's the Communist government that ousted the Royal Lao Family from the land of million elephants. In short, Laos!
At the funeral, you'll likely see an old bald-foreheaded short Lao guy speak. At first, he'll say "nyob zoo." Then the rest will be all Laotians. He's a close friend of VP's family and crony to VP's regime as well as part of the Hmong vet coterie. I forgot his name. But he's supposed to be the current Prince Solivong's uncle or something. That prince will no doubt also appear at the funeral.
