When I was in French Guiana several years ago, I saw a fruit the size of an ordinary duck egg. Dark green with feelable lumps on the outside, I thought that was the strangest fruit I had ever seen. The Hmong farmer there told me they grew those fruits and ate them as well as sold them to the general French population. So I took a few pictures of it. I even videotaped the tree and its leaves to make sure I could tell my family and friends in America about them. The Hmong farmer could not tell me what the name of that fruit was. So I had no idea what it was.
Now that I think more and more about your oily, good-tasting food, I think it's that fruit. I just saw a look-alike of it at one of the local grocery stores. It's an avocado!

And there are tons of them around here. How on Earth I missed knowing about it several years ago is questionable.
