Racist in Tulsa...
« on: March 30, 2011, 02:17:29 PM »

Just a warning, Tulsa is very racist.  It is home to the racist Oral Roberts University and the Black Wall Street incendent.

that white guy won't get prosecuted... the cops will find every excuses to get him off.

Similar to an incident that happened in Detroit in the late 80s... can't remember the detail but an uncle told me that a hmong man was rear-ended by a black woman.  But when the hmong man step out of his car, the black woman screen at him and cussed at him and got some black dude out of a house to beat the hmong man.

I just want to give all the Hmong brothers and sisters a heads up on this part of the country.  It has a history of racial violence.  They have tried to erase the Black Wall street massacre from history.

3miao, there have been racist events across this country since the early days of the Mayflower having landed at Plymouth Rock.  No need to warn anyone anything about the ugly truth which exists anywhere.

If they did not try to cover up the autrocities I would agree with you.  The Black Wall Street massacre was put under the rug and hope nobodies find out.

I guess the hmong guy doesn't have any relatives nearby.  Those living with close relatives would have backup.  There might even be a drive by if he had the right relatives.

There are very few Hmong in the area.  Every body live miles apart.

I wouldn't jump to the conlusion that this was a racist thing. Pet owners love their pets just as much as a parent loves a child. The guy probably acted on anger about the injuries to the dog. Yes, he doesn't have the right to brutally beat up another human being for an accident like this, but this doesn't mean  he was racist. What if the beaten up man wasn't Hmong, would the outcome had been different? We will never  know. He should be punished for almost beating up a man to death, but accusing him of being racist could be a little dramatic given that we don't know if his intentions were based on the man is not White.
You are talking about an ex-cop....

Despite if he was a cop or not, it still doesn't give people the right to call him a racist though. He is a human being and human beings can act inappropriatel y when something has affected them.
An ex cop has better self control....  The attack was not just one or two punches..   He literally tried to kill the gentleman.  The Hmong man needs crutches now....

I agree with you on the fact that he should've had better self control given that he was a cop. How he acted may have nothing to do with being a racist though. He brutally beated a man and should be punished to the fullest extent, but what I am saying is that, this beating may have nothing to do with being racist at all. It could have just been an unfortunate reaction that so happened caused a Hmong man to be beaten.
Given the area's long history of racism??? No..  If it was a white person I doubt if this would have happen.

That's what we will never know. If it was a White person, would the outcome had been different? I know that Oklahoma has a history of being racist, but this doesn't make every person in that state one even though he was an ex cop. I know people who are White that lives in that state, and they have no racist blood in them whatsoever.
Have you read the article about the Black Wall Street at the beginning of the thread???  These whites you are talking about just watched as the massacre of a community took place.  Will they step in to help???? Nope.  They just don't want their hands bloody...
