I've been informed that this sorry-ass excuse for radio programming recently aired on KDWB 101.3 in Minneapolis. It's basically a straight up racist  song making fun of Hmong people (there is a significant concentration of the Hmong population in the Twin Cities), to the tune of Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven." It's pretty astounding. You have to listen for yourself:


I almost find it difficult to believe something this awful actually made it on the air... but then I remember that this is a morning radio show, and they pull dumb, derogatory shit like this all the time, just for the sake of stirring things up. Someone heard it and uploaded the audio to YouTube, and the emails have started trickling in.

No care...it's pretty funny because the stereotype is kind of true.  Hmong pple get prego early, have a bunch of kids by mid 20's and are over the hill by 30.  Not saying it's true for everyone but I know everyone knows someone that falls into this category.  Have a sense of humor.  If you're really offended just turn them off, that's the best way to respond.  By telling pple to boycott and writing letters you're just creating a buzz and that's what they want.

Wow, no wonder Hmong are 2nd class citizens.  Because they want to be!  That's all I gotta say.  If you want to be then it is your choice I am  not going to argue about it.

Talking, making humor, jokes, etc. in private conversation is fine.  Going on big all over radio for 1.2 million people in the twin cities area to hear is racist.  What this will do is create an unfair perception of the Hmong people at large.  This will both affect the Hmong people who does not fit the category and those who are.  Basically, you all are accepting bad things you think only happens in the Hmong people, which is further from the truth.  The fact is that what they are describe fits in any group of people....Hmon g, White, black, mex, etc. ....AND can you think of a reason why Hmong is being SINGLED out?

Most of you are TOOOOOO smart for your own good.  Go learn the history of racism and its affects to community.  Learn about institution racism, systematic killing of people, etc.

The truth is, the song fits every nationalities all over the country.  The truth is, an unhealthy, racist, stereotyping, misconception, ignorant, hurts the community, thus the efficiency of the people in the state, government, world, etc.

look at the work i highlight. if its written by these morning radio hosts it would not be written like that. am sure you listen to it daily and didn't recall any stereotype used the word "we." It should be written "they."
