The world must have seemed dark and hopeless and frightening to those first families. I feel their pains. Fortunately, they didn't kill off their families like those who recently did--because of domestic violence. Those first families worked hard and survived. I am proud of them.
Those that arrived later and killed each other have been easily influenced and inticed by modern society. That is sad.
I may be considered still rather young and maybe even naive to understand the plight and the struggles some of my aunts, my grandmas, my mom and my dad went through to get here and in their early days in America, but when they shared their stories it made me shed a tear along with them too. I cried a lot along with them when VP passed away too.
My mom and dad's family are all over the states, as well as back in Cali still, and I am proud that some of them have moved on and better themselves and their families too.
