The police has a device that can download info from your cell phone in seconds.  Will you allow the police to down your cell in a traffic stop?

FOURTH AMENDMENT violation big time.  Unreasonable Searches And Seizures.
Unless you are arrested, they cannot extract anything from your phone without a warrant.
Pretty sure Justice Department might investigate.

Also turn your phone off if pulled over by cops.

'The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.'

I keep being reminded of a story printed by Reader's Digests awhile ago:

A prisoner keeps getting letters from his wife asking for advice on things in life.  "When is time to plant vegetables?" her recent letter asked.

"Oh, dear, don't dig up the backyard. I have ammos hidden there," he wrote back.

The wife's next letter asked, "Hon, what is going on? Yesteday, the FED came and dug up everything in the backyard and found nothing there!"

The prisoner wrote a letter back, which finally got to the wife. "Now is time to plant vegetables," he wrote.

Such government intrusion started with 9/11 after Bin Laden's attacks on the two towers.  At that time, George Bush signed an executive order that allowed the government to wiretape all international communications without the warrant process--although domestic communications were still subject to the warrant protections.  But since that time, the government has reasoned its intrusions into our privacies in ways we had never known before. This new gadget is another way of that intrusion.

However, there is still question on how far the cops can go with the Cellbrite gadget.  Does a minor traffic stop trigger that the cops' right to delve that far into a person's privacy?

People have no one to blame but themselves. The law was created to protect the citizen but instead the citizen took advantage of it by hiding drugs etc...
I say its your own fault. Live with it!

One thing prisoners need to know is that all communications between them and anyone outside are monitored...th is guy seems to know that pretty well and used law enforcement to his advantage.

Invasion of privacy? Why is it a big deal? This has being going on since the invention of recordable tape devices and the days of telephone lines blanketing the streets where all lines are routed through huge telecom network monitoring system and recordings. The only way to not invite unwanted attentions is to not use such communication technology and go off grid.
