TO: HND’s Local & National Organizations who signed onto HND’s KDWB Letter,
as well as the broader Hmong community
RE: Clear Channel/KDWB’s response to HND’s letter
Thank you for your support in signing the recent letter to Clear Channel regarding KDWB’s radio skit.
Hmong National Development, Inc. (HND) is pleased to report that within 24 hours Clear Channel and
KDWB have both personally reached out to HND in response to our letter issued on April 19, 2011
regarding the KDWB incident on the “Dave Ryan in the Morning Show”. We thank them for their
promptness to our letter and their effort to work with our community in a respectful manner. We were
able to engage in a constructive dialogue regarding both where HND and our partner organizations stand
as well as what action steps KDWB has taken in response thus far. KDWB reiterated that they have
issued 3 apologies to the Hmong community, which HND recognized and is aware of.
A community meeting with KDWB has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 4th. KDWB will invite
leaders and representative s from organizations from the Hmong community to attend this meeting.
KDWB has also expressed that they welcome HND’s recommendation s as to who should attend this
meeting to ensure that the community is well-represented. We look forward to a mutual dialogue with
KDWB that we hope will start the healing process for our community in a proactive, respectful manner.
Moving forward, HND will continue to engage the Hmong community and solicit feedback regarding
how best to integrate socially just, racially inclusive, and culturally relevant content out onto the airwaves.
We look forward to seeing many of you this weekend at the 15th annual Hmong National Conference.
Sincerely,
Bao Vang, President/CEO
Hmong National Development, Inc.

let suabqeeb be the first to thank me nceb for the information.

this letter to assure the hmong communities that a mutual understanding between two parties were reached. now everyone is happy happy; like me nceb?

the letter was written by Bao Vang. Where is the 3 letters from the radio station? since me nceb was and is so aggressive about the over all incident, me nceb should have the letters from the radio station.
