think of Robin Hood?
whether a crime is a crime depends on who you are. is it a crime for your employer to pay you so little while he takes the most?
You can look at however you want and there's always an argument for everything, but the fact is, the system of how to become rich is created by the rich for the rich. Every now and then the rich will allow some of the common folk or even one in poverty to rise and become rich so they can say, "See, anyone can be rich if they just work hard and apply himself/herself." I know what you're thinking, "What about all those poor blacks who became millionaire athletes and entertainers?" That belongs in a topic by itself.
Of course, also every year at least one rich person of the inner circle of the rich and powerful is convicted of fraud for stealing millions to sacrifice as a scapegoat to say and appease the public, "No one is above the law"
when the truth is virtually every single one of those rich people would be doing some prison time if an investigation is ever done on them.
What Thomas Edison was also subtly implying when he said the only difference is the rich knows how to steal is when the rich steals, it's called business and investing, when the common folks does it, it's fraud and stealing.
