If you don't have a birth certificate prepare to do some jumping when you are getting a passport.  How about this question: were baptized or circumcized?

Keep things as they are: two or more affidavits from people who know about the applicant's birth. Many cultures do not circumcise their kids.

Hmm, if you don't have a copy of your birth certificate, I'm sure you can get a new one.

hehehe...Aria, immigrants who are born overseas sometimes have no birth certificates at all...like on the hills of Laos, there's no hospital to record anything there, no one has papers and pens or typewriters and computers, etc. They can only witness.

You become a citizen and get your passport, of course.

If you are already a citizen, there's no need for a birth certificate to get a passport. Just show them your Certificate of Naturalization .
