Great Stuffhttp://www.triplicate.com/20110421111929/News/Local-News/Package-leads-to-big-drug-bustWISC -The package — containing about 2.75 pounds of opium hidden in the shovels’ handles — was addressed to a home at 1460 Gary St. A search warrant served on that house Friday and an additional house at 645 Elk Valley Road, Unit A, led to the arrest of four people and the displacement of a 14-year-old child alleged to have been in a sexual relationship with one of the adults.
During the search at both residences, members of the Sheriff’s Office Felony Investigations Unit found 127 pounds of processed marijuana stored in seven large plastic barrels, 102 pounds of immature marijuana plants, 16 guns, more than $32,000 in cash and several welfare checks, said sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Morris.
Twelve of the guns were found at the Gary Street residence as well as the immature plants and a majority of the processed marijuana, authorities said.
“This is clearly a family operation,” said sheriff’s Commander Tim Athey, adding that all four suspects are related.
Ying Thao, 48, Dee Yang, 45, and Kao Thao, 19, were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offenses, while Steven Thao, 23, was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child. Kao and Steven Thao are the children of Yang and Ying Thao, authorities said.
