He should get something like a CBR600 RR or an R6.

I disagree after riding my girl's first bike (baby Ninja) on the freeway on several occasions. Her bike can do the 1/4 mile in 14 sec. (faster than most autos) and top out close to 100 MPH (good enough for the freeways). But like most things, it depends on the individual so I can see how it can be "scary" for some.

i never had a problem with my 250 on the freeway at 80mph

I'm not saying the bike can't go 80. It doesn't like staying there though.

seriously? i never had much problem, but then again, i only had my 250 for like 3 months before i sold it and got my R1.. 250 got boring.. Even riding a 600 feels weird now..i'm not use to have to stay 5-6k rpm on regular streets to keep up..
