Milwaukee, WI
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:04:46 AM »
You guys are probably wondering why Milwaukee, WI of all places. lol. Well, with the time I have available this summer for some vacationing, I couldn't afford to do any week long trips this summer. That'll be saved for next summer....vaca tion time needs to kick in some more first!! In the meantime, it’s just roadtrips to get away from home for a few days.

I’m looking at places, attractions, parks, shops, and events in Milwaukee. What’s there to do? My mom will by coming with us girls so I definitely have to also cater to her needs and do some stops in Hmong-based “villages”. Isn’t there a Hmong flea market thingy too?

Oh yes, where is the best place to get a glimpse of Lake Michigan?

One last question…what areas/neighborhood should I stay away from in Milwaukee. I know every city has its ghetto and ‘racist people’ areas.

Leaving July 7th through that weekend… :)

Why not drive another 1+ to Chicago too. If you like the pioneer days, you should check out Old World.

Milwaukee is a wasted of time and money.  It's the most trashiest (if that's even a word), ghetto city I have ever seen.

Want to see Lake Michigan?  Go to downtown.  Downtown sits on top of a hill next to Lake Michigan.  Ain't nothing fancy about it.

We went to Chicago last year and it wasn't too exciting.  :( Vietnamese Town was a ripoff...altho ugh they had some of the greatest dessert there. *drools*

Haha! You people are mean! From what I vaguely remember of Milwaukee (granted, this was when I was about 11) Milwaukee wasn't that bad. I did went to a botanical garden (?) and all.

MSV, you go there and enjoy yourself!

I live in Milwaukee for 28 years and there is NOTHING exciting about Milwaukee..  :)  ONLY cool thing is Summerfest and WI State Fair, other than that..this is pretty much it.  State Fair suck due too the large population of kadoos, whose go crazy running around like something is going down.  Last year when I was there at the Fair about 100 kadoos running like they trying to escape a slave trade.

I was in milwaukee a few weeks back and there is really nothing there. We did go to the art museum, beach on the shore, and well that was it.

during that time it was the summerfest too. we didn't check that out and drove to chicago instead.
