Looking to upgrade
« on: July 03, 2011, 09:36:00 PM »
Hi all I have a ex250 that i have been riding  for a while. I bought the bike with 10,XXX miles, and has around 22XXX miles. I love this bike, its easy to ride,
easy to work on (thanks ninja250.org) and starts up everyteim i hit the start button (even in -0 degree weather).

but i want either a new bike or a bigger bike, getting left behind on the straights suck. Couple weeks ago i was at my  triumph dealer and sat on a new d675r.
That bike is beautiful! Would like to check out the 848evo but duc mpls doesnt have one in stock (we can order one if you qualify or have the cash).

I was wondering should i upgrade or keep honing my elbow scrapin' skills? i dont know im just a little drunk and rambling..

What was your first bike, and when did you upgrade?

Should you upgrade? That decision comes down to you.

First bike? Mine was an 80' Maxim 1100 which I bought it for $1,000 from a co-worker. Rode it for about 3 years then bought a Virago 750.

Any sportbike made in the last 5 years will blow your socks off!  It's all up to personal preference and color choices really.  Performance factor is so far outside of most rider's abilities, even on a 600, that it's not even a comparable feature anymore.  When an 1/8th of a second separates the bikes in one class, you don't even look at performance numbers.  Choose a bike that will be comfortable enough for you to keep on riding and fits your style of riding (urban riding, long hauls, etc).

yuknowthat, depends on what year. I love the 99-02 R6!

BuckFuddies2, the 2003-2006 body looks sexy, and I love the undertail body exhaust system, but RR's in my area are pricey!

Anyway, i got approved for a loan..675R! $13,000 OTD sign on the doted line sir..

Congrats man  O0!

As long as you got what you want, it doesn't matter what anyone else says. Like your first bike, take your time to get to know the new one before going full throttle. Post some pics when you can...

Everyone would like to upgrade at some point in time, but you also have to look at the reliability & cost of maintenance.

My first bike as a CBR900RR unless you count scooters which I stole rides on when I was around 14.   ;D

That Daytona...... they added the extra 75cc to the usual 600cc of other competitor bikes because they know if they kept it 600, that the CBR, Ninja, and GSX-R would spank it out on the track when they do comparisons... .. so they added that extra 75cc to not be classified in the same class.

Though I'm sure it'll still get spanked.

I think it's fair because it's 3 vs. 4.
