LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law on Monday a bill allowing illegal immigrants to receive privately funded scholarships to attend the state's public colleges and universities.

The bill, dubbed the California Dream Act, passed the state Legislature earlier this month and aims at helping illegal immigrants who earned a diploma after attending at least three years of high school in the state.

US debt default 'unthinkable'

The United States will not default on its debt, US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Sunday, as the clock ticks down to reaching a deal by August 2 to raise the nation's debt ceiling.

"It's unthinkable we would not meet our obligations on time," Geithner told CNN in an interview. "It's not going to happen."
Congress must also come up with a plan which lifts the threat of a US default of its huge $14.3 trillion debt for at least 18 months, beyond the November 2012 elections, Geithner said.
"We have to take that threat off the table. But we also have to make sure that we come together to make some long term savings," he told Fox News Sunday. "We're trying to avoid default today, and the specter of default in the future."

The states is just promoting the American dream. Let it do that.

My question though is this: if they are illegals and they get into public schools, wouldn't the INS/USCIS know how to track them down for deportation?

Last year ex-governor Arnold veto that dam bill, and in his veto message, "the governor wrote that it was not appropriate to pass the bill given the condition of the state's economy".

The State has no money to run the state government! Why he get money to pay for illigal students?
State cut down 10% off financial aids for all the City Colleges and Universities folowing by this year.
Why they get money to pay for illigal students?

America will going down to hell, and no longer be a supper power. If we don't change this kind of system.

Suav thiab Mev yuav ntxias kom tau Amelikas lub tebchaws , kom pluag kiag thiab poob mus.

Yeah! absulutely they can track down any illigal students,.

My understanding is that the new law will allow students to get money/scholarships and other funds from the PRIVATE SECTOR, not government money or public funds.  That means, if General Mills wants to pay for an illegal's tuition at Stanislaus, it can. Stanislaus and the entire State of California does not have to pay a penny for the student's attendance there, because General Mills is already paying for everything.

I could be wrong in reading the language of the new law. If I'm wrong, correct me.

you gotta think like a white man...what is the real reason that they want to pass this law?
1.  to be able to better track these people.

2.  promote job security for border patrol and open up more job openings.

3.  to show americans how allowing illegal imigrants into integration, can have a affect to us all.
