Hmong American Sportsmen Club hosts Small Game Sight-in before opener Giving back to the community
September 11th, 2011
Sheboygan, WI – The Hmong American Sportsmen Club (HASC) hosted their first annual free Small Game Sight-in this past Sunday for the surrounding Hmong community before the big opening day of small game this coming Saturday. HASC teamed up with the Sheboygan Rifle and Pistol Club (SRPC) and their range officers to make the event possible, which brought out over 30 Hmong small game hunters to come sight-in their small caliber rifles.
“By offering this free sight-in to the Hmong community we’ve offered these small game hunters an opportunity to test out their rifles in a safe and controlled environment; giving them the confidence to go out and harvest a few squirrels knowing their rifles are accurate. In previous year, these hunters had no other choice but to go to the woods to do their sight-in. It’s great to know we can give back to the Hmong community for which our club represents,” said Addison Lee, Club President of the Hmong American Sportsmen Club.
As one of the range officers of SRPC Reed Van Ness was at the sight-in to help out and give his expert advice.
“It’s a great thing the Hmong American Sportsmen Club is doing here for the Hmong community. Our club looks forward to working with them again in the near future,” said Reed Van Ness, President of the Sheboygan Rifle & Pistol Club.
