Marrying Hmong women back in Laos is like a trend only. If you really look into it, most of them were born in Laos age from mid-40's and up. In the next 10+ years they will slow down the trend. Also in 10 years the girls in Laos also bet...See More

Amia Love Vang It saddens me that some hmong people like to talk down of their own hmong people. If one is curious, just share your thoughts and not speak negativity. I'm not pointing any fingers but seriously talk like adults and with respect. If men go to thailand or Laos to remarry or marry girls down there. There could be lots of reasons. and I'd also like to the thank Jiaoyin Yang for sharing your story with us all.

Ciaj Sia Lee It doesn't matter which race why gets attached to outside of America. They all are clung on one feeling, the traditional romantic lullaby. In America we lost the basic touch of a relationship. Couples, now days cannot and will not give into each others needs anymore. That's why any men nor women who travels abroad, quickly gets drown in.

Lina Xiong heres another question within this question or thought. why is it that we define or have gender roles? what is really considered normal and why do we have the right to define what is normal and what isnt? its just something we made up or what society want us to think and behave like.

From the perspective of these men, and there are honest ones. American Hmong women have high expectations for selection of guys. This is their typical requirements:

Klare Vue Of course we want all those good traits in a man! Should we settle for less? Heck no! Just because we want a man who can take care of themselves doesn't mean that we have unrealistic requirements, just like anyone would have requirements.

Klare Vue And I honestly think men go back to Thailand to find their brides because its more convenient for them. American women are smart now, we know what we want and we won't put up with anything, I think this intimidates the Hmong men so they want a submissive wife, someone vulnerable, so who do they choose?

Tsas Vwj Grace Point Church, you are correctly point out all the requirement to marry a highly educated Hmong woman, and that man is from Hollywood. Hmong men chose young and tender wives from over sea. Sooooo selfish everyone!

Amia Love Vang ‎@ Grace Point Church I strongly disagree with you. Your requirements are only what you believe in. Please don't speak for us hmong women here in America. We have a heart like every other women. We do not just look at the physical features. We look at the men and see what kind of men they are first.. And if hmong men go to thailand could be that they are looking for that spark that died here in america....

It looks on paper but from what I've seen with "westernized" Hmong, they sure don't act as they say. Cause I have to pick up the mess afterward. And am still doing it!

Hmong Americans are being influenced by the mainstream media, mainley shady tv sitcoms and shallow American culture.  I'm not blaming Hmong people nor mainstream Americans but the culture itself is leading to a self destructive path.  For one to understand, one must look at the American way of life from the outside.

it's not only Hmong.  mekas and other ppl do it too.  it's just that men have more choices now that they have the means to do it.... they should hope that they don't get caught trying to buy a child bride.

most men will blame it on this femeninist society... that has turn mekas women into demanding beeches who have become selfish... hehehe.

demanding for equal rights and fair treatment is what I am for 100%.  The part about women wanting to wear the pants yet expect the men to treat them like a lady while she continues to bitttch and whine about everything in life is still somewhat confusing.

I've viewed this clip for a couple of times but I still get a kick out of it everytime I view it.  You all should enjoy, too.
