There are two things which cannot be attacked in front: ignorance and narrow-mindedness. They can only be shaken by the simple development of the contrary qualities. They will not bear discussion.  - Lord Acton

Here's one of those...bad in ideology, but great if you look at the math AKA return on investment.

Jerry Brown got this right.  And I rather have taxes be spent on illegal immigrants who earned their way into college through hard work than your below-average play now, work later college student.

six,

THAT'S A BUNCH OF BULLSH!T.  If you really are a tax-payer, you'd be opposed to this.  Try crossing the border into "some" foreign countries illegally, YOU'D GET SHOT.  Oh, but not here.  You get free health insurance, free education, a green-card and welfare...cour tesy of the tax-payers of this country.

I'm thinking of quitting my job right now; live off the government...I've always wanted to own a ferrari and a big house and now Gov. Brown can make it possible.

I completely agree with you 100% on all those points.  I haha and moan all day long at these mexicans who cannot even follow the damn rules of the road and the illegals who are suing a soon-to-be bankrupt hospital for denying them non-life threatening health care.

However, all that is really irrelevant on this one specific topic.  If the kids are smart enough to even get into a university while living with 20 other people in a 2 bedroom home, they are gifted.  Their gift should be cultivated.  Studies have shown that these students oftentimes stay where they graduate and contribute back to society a whole lot more than they took.

I don't fu-ckin' care.  They're a dime a dozen in this country.  I was just reading up and watching documentaries of situations involving people who were being admitted into certain hospitals but didn't have health care and YET, they still get the same priority as others who have good health insurance, pay their taxes and follow the rules.

It's one of the reasons I hate going to a Med7 in Sacramento.  I spoke with one the receptionists and they mentioned that it's difficult to determine who should receive presidence (the insured with non-fatal injuries OR the uninsured who has more serious trauma).

Suppose someone comes in (uninsured illegal) with a gun-shot wound.  What do you do?  It would be a bloody mess but IF the Gov has the power to control who receives free money, then doctors should have the power to decide who lives and who DIES.  HA!  In the words of Ebenezzer Scrooge, "It's best that he dies and decreases the surplus population (of illegals)."

Education is just like that.  How can a person be screened and identified as an illegal (despite their scholastic aptitude) be given better privileges than someone (equally as gifted) who's family contributes honestly?  This country; not to mention Gov. Brown should rethink this mistake they are making.

they should also have a california wake up act too... that revokes a persons citizenship if theyre doing nothing to contribute to society...

the two goes hand in hand...

What are your thoughts?

Yeah, about that...gee...t hat's gonna cost a lot of money.

I'm a democrat-republican and I would say yes; however, there must be a certain extent for those immigrants as well. If they fail once in college, then let it be a sign that if they are wasting government's money, then they should be deport back where they came.

I still don't get those who support this!  What is this world coming in?  Give my tax dollars to illegals?  Tax payers are getting robbed over and over again.  Ca will go so does the rest of the nation.

Why give them financial aid when they can work for it? Give them loans, like the rest of us middle class people. This way, we can guarrantee they'll stick around and work to pay off their loans. What about the poor American citizen that can't pay for their college? Who's helping them?

No one.  You have to be an illegal to get help from the government.

You know...I'm a pretty easy going person but this California Dream Act REALLY MAKES ME MAD.  I can make fun of thePoster like I was skipping stones but knowing where my tax dollars are going, I could just kill someone.

i'm not as angry about losing tax dollars to fund the education of illegals as i am about losing tax dollars to fund extravagant lifestyles of welfare recipients.  it pisses me off when i see an ebt card holder driving lexus and mercedes with huge chrome rims while i drive my 10yr old car.   ::)
