STD/STI
« on: November 09, 2011, 03:00:00 AM »
In clinics, we see so many people with STD/STI symptoms and we see many of the same people over and over.  I'm just wondering if most people who are single, dating, and having casual sex are using protection?  It would make sense that it's the younger kids that are not using protection because of lack of education but we see many people in their 20s and 30s with clap, trich, warts, and herpes.  Is it the lack of education for these adults?  Or they just don't care?

If you're single and having casual sex, even though you use protection, get yourself check yearly for STD and HIV.  That's the only way to go.  Plus many insurances will pay for yearly tests.

It is a reckless careless practice they carry along with many other things in their life.  This is the good oh USA, anybody not knowing about STDs and sex should revisit the 6th grade - they taught it there.

I know in high school we were taught safe sex and STD but these adults who are coming in for chlamydia for the third time is plain careless and stupid.  They think they can have unprotected sex and call us for antibiotics when they're having symptoms.  We're making them come in so that we can swab their pee pee and they're getting upset that they have to come in.   ;D

YOu know why you see the same ones agian and agian and why you see alot?

Becuase..they are always banking on "Yeah go see doc, he'll give you a shot and some pills and fix you right up"

"Yeah really?"

"YEah! you dont have to worry, just raw dog it!  They got all sorts of medicine to fix you right up."

and thats the reason.

Becuase at the end of the day, alot of people just assume there's a cure for all the std's.  So they just go unprotected.  Becuase once you start interviewing them you .... it's always the same thing  from them..and it goes like

"Hey I heard there's some shots you can take blah blah blah"

"my dad's a doctor and he says there's a vaccine for blah blah blah"

Like I said, I'm tired of seeing cocks, seen at least one cock for each day of the week so far.  Luckily it's the start of the weekend! Yay!

well most if not all knows that there is no cure for aids, so for the purpose of getting care is not their sole intention, but rather the fact that they are careless and sloppy.  Most of these people won't even pick up or clean after themselves, why would they care to put on a condom at the heat of relieving their sexual urges.  They do it and worry about what they are going to get later.

I totally understand that as human beings, we have sexual urges but than cover it up.  All it takes is one time and you're infested with genital herpes for the rest of your life.  These adults just don't care and than they're wasting my time with these appointments.

well my nursing instructor did tell us, don't be a fool, wrap your tool!! Seriously though, so much can be found on google. Not to mention, health depts give out condoms by the bucketful for free. But whats wrong with people's health these days is probably just a lack of initiative and/or discipline? Its the same...people know smoking is bad...they still smoke. Hypertension and heart disease is running rampant, yet we still go to mcd's. getting off point...but you know what i'm trying to say.

Without them you won't have anything to do, or your job.   The medical and health fields are there to correct and help people in their mistakes.  Have some patience and compassion in what you do.  O0

For some of, it's lack of education. For others, careless and stupid.

In the time of heat, most men thinks with their glans penis instead of their head. Its a common practice, which can be solved with a cold shower.   :P

That is why we make them come in for education and teaching but many want us to just give them a refill on their last antibiotic.  They definitely know what they're doing,  I just can't believe that adults would not want to take care of themselves a little better.

Lack of education plays a part, but it's mostly b/c people don't really care and/or always think it's someone else who's going to get it, not them.
