I once met this guy from SF online. He would drive to my town every so often  so we decided to meet up. From the beginning he told me he has a long term gf, so our friendship was just platonic. He would come to town, take me out to coffee or lunch and we would have the most amazing conversations about life, relationships etc... IT was the only time in my life where there were mutual respect for one another and no bad intentions on both side. He was such a kind and respectful gentleman. I felt comforted by our genuin respect, and enjoyed our conversations about life, relationships etc...it was therapeutic.

We only had lunch/dinner a few times and then lost touch. that was probably 8 yrs ago.  A few years ago I bumped into him on here, and he said he married the girl he was dating at the time and they had a few children.

And honestly I don't even remember his first or last name, or how he looks like.

Maybe because there was no pressure which allowed you to be just you?

The friendship zone.  It was established early and never went anywhere with it.
