anybody has information about a fishing derby as part of the hmong sports during fhny. i believe there was one last year. wonder if they has it again this year. i would like to participate in it.

Yes, there was one last year. I don't know about this year. $10 a day to register and about $3000 in prize money. The biggest prize money was the $500 fish. Some guy who owns a garage shop in Fresno caught it I think. There were a few $300 and $200 fish...but the rest were like $50, $20, $10, and $5.

But for me, it's more about the fun and seeing so many people fishing...wome n and girls in their Hmong outfit fishing and even some Mexicans nearby came to join us too.

do you have any info on the date, time, location of the pond/lake of the derby? i am thinking about entering the derby
