Purpose Drive Life
« on: December 02, 2011, 12:43:02 PM »
I was reading today online and came across this an article and this is an amazing quote.

Quote
When I started my business, I wanted to escape from poverty. But I've come to think that our real value lies in what we should be contributing to society.

Seems like easier said when looking at the peak of the moutain versus the foot right? It is why we have the climb the mountain first to understand.

There's a book by that title, "a purpose driven life.." not sure if that's the book you've read..

If a person is bless w/ resources to make a difference in the life of another/community, he should.  If we live life w/ a very limited focus on ourselves, the selves, we are cheating ourselves of being the person we were meant to be.  People, we are connected..int erconnected..  Your pain is my pain..my sorrow is your sorrow..  You give, lift another, you do what you can to make the world a better place.

so, yes, very true.

Yes by Pastor Rick Warren wrote that book ;)  Good read even for those who aren't secular.

I know I shamelessly jacked his title without offering proper citation.  ;D

Imagine if that is the goal of each and every human being?  How much better would society be?  We strip away all the non-value added arguments and bickering and she said he said, mine versus yours and focus on a utopia...it sad we may have evolved intellectually but we have devolve socially.  What a freaking tragedy.

no. how about you make a difference, I make a difference. and all others either make a difference or follow? it's up to you, me or them; whichever. if you want to lead (by good examples) others will follow. there is a choice. there is a differing statement-of-value in a predicament-of-worthiness or status-symbol. there are influences most caused by situations, places and things; then people come afterwards. that is how invention works. that is how improvisation/improvement works.

when you so already question the topic at hand, then you are at an advantage (or disadvantage), whichever you choose, to lead or to follow whichever is clever... be it the better...

The trick to mastering all the tricks and deciphering all the riddles within many great philosophies is... dissipate the thoughts, not be of solid; and evaporate the existence of the self, not be of water; but move about from one standpoint, not that of air.

Purpose does not drive life, life just is.

Men look for a purpose because they are lost and looking for themselves. They busy themselves seeking happiness through money, love, status, god whatever.

Until death comes knocking, they will not realize the wonders and mysteries of life have to offer.

For he who has the most toys, still dies.
