The first part of your statement is true, but the second part of it is false. The concept is that you are are six introductions or less from everyone on this planet, not necessarily related.

However, a new study suggests that it is 4.74 degrees of separation, thanks to facebook.  :D

Thanks to Facebook eh?

I hope they aren't taking Facebook data, you know why?

Because I have random friends who add me as their family members even if they're black.

True. Someone said I used to work at a bar with them, when that's not true! :2funny: :2funny:

Was it Gardner or Gladwell that said there are those people who enjoy connecting (traditionally extrovert) who make massive connections?  I think Gladwell in his book right?  I think facebook brings a lot of those people together.  I'm not a connector type of people...The way I'm wired in my head doesn't allow me to behave in such a way.  I can mimic it but it takes a huge strain on me because I'm acting outside the norm.

Six Degrees of Separation Now Five, Thanks To Facebook

Facebook probably got the wrong answer.  Some people just add people randomly and they remain strangers.

It was not facebook that did the study. However, some people do agree with you in that the relationship dynamics on facebook  are not neccesarily the same as in real life. The article touched on that if I recall correctly.
