Edit:  Sorry, let me clarify - what is your age limit on men/women for your age?  To be more specific, would men consider dating older women? Maybe 3-5 years older?

How much older though? Of course most women will go older but is there a cutoff on the number for you? Can you do someone 10+ yrs. old? Say you were 20 and he was 42...would you say yay or nay?

I think age matters with me. No disrespect but men live shorter lives than women. Not too long ago I bumped into a guy who was 39 (I'm only 26 -- 13 yrs. difference) and I started thinking what if there was a future with us and we ended up settling down. Then I thought about his age and what it'd be like if he passed from old age and left all the kids for me to raise. I look at how my mom raised my siblings and I when my dad past away and it’s exhausting for her. A huge part of serious relationships/marriage is learning to share a load together. What happens when more weight is added on but one end of the holding point just falls off forever? Ever since that encounter with the much older men….I’ve sat down and really reassess the whole age factor and where I want to draw my limit. Sometimes even 10 yrs. my age would be stretching it a little. If things went my way, I prefer someone 5-7 yrs older than me and no one younger…

I don't know what it is...but I just can't seem to date a women older than me.  I don't mind someone who's a couple months or at the most 1 year older than me....but I can't seem to date anyone older than me....just can't.

I'm older than you.

I'm at a point in my life where I feel to find someone with similar interests and wants in life is rare. To discount them merely because they are ten years older than me seems rather silly. Will I date someone as old as my father, highly unlikely. But then again, what are the chances of me meeting a Hmong man who will share similar interests as me who are that old? I don't foresee any of that being a major problem as for me, the most important thing is common interests and goals.

While you desire children and may hold back on dating someone older because you fear losing them, I do not think I want children at this time. Maybe not ever.
