Left-brain or Right-brain thinker: which is you?
« on: December 10, 2011, 09:48:23 PM »
Try the first two videos to find out what you are. Then check out the third one for some info on what each is or what kind of person you are. If you want to debate the accuracy or inaccuracy of the claims made in the videos, you may.

The narrator in the first video did say there are those who see her do both! Probably someone who has the best of the both worlds?

I like the 3rd Video, his argument makes sense and I can definitely see evidence of it.

1st Video: I got Right-Brain.

2nd Video: I got Left-Brain.

Does this mean I'm a balance of both? Maybe.

Left Brain

  • Practicality

  • Math

Right Brain
  • Feeling
  • Intuition
  • Symbols
  • Images
  • Risk Taking
  • Philosophy
  • Religion

I agree with him in video 3 that children are not awarded for questioning the validity of the information they receive, they are ridiculed. However, the children who blindly accept the information as true go on to become the decision makers in our government, law, medicine, business, and every other occupation with power and prestige. Maybe this is why these people (book smart people) usually have no common sense. You ever meet them? They only know what they read about, they talk to you like they know it all but when it comes to problem solving they get a "brain fart", nothing comes out.

They don't understand that when you leave the thermostat at 70 degrees Fahrenheit, on automatic heat, it'll automatically turn the heat on to keep the room temperature 70. They think this means the air coming out of the vents will only be 70 degrees, so they turn it up to 90 because 90 "will be warmer". Right, 90 will be warmer, a little too warm! Yet if you ask them about grammar and citations, they'll tell you like an automated dictionary would!

I've seen and met many who seemed to fall into your descriptions. I just never knew which brain they were dominant in.

What does it mean when I can make her go back and forth whenever I feel like it? She'd go clockwise, and then counterclockwi se, and then back and forth like a dance if I wanted. I hope this doesn't mean my brain is twisted.

I wonder why the narrator hasn't said anything about those who see her twirl both ways.   But my thinking is that such persons can choose to see something one way or the other way.

There might be more videos out there on this. I don't have time to search for them now. But if I come across one, I'll certainly post it up on here.

Bad testing?

First video I saw the ballerina turn clockwise (RIGHT BRAIN).

Second video I saw the the man (LEFT BRAIN).

My conclusion...t hese tests are bogus!  PULL OUT THE MRI SCANNER!

Personally, I think I'm right brain but I've spent way too much time trying to learn about the left brain :D  So does that make me both?  Beats me.  I don't care.

NOTE: had to double check...LOL... it's clockwise for right brain for #1.  Wasn't able to get the ballerina to turn counterclockwi se.

There are those who are both. I think you and Insignia are those kinds.

Some people are able to see her spinning in both directions, but most of them see her rotating only in one. If you can see her spin in one direction and then make her spin in the other, then you are a part of a handful of people. Even if it might not seem so, both directions can be seen. Apparently, this fact has been proved at the Yale University, USA, after 5 years of studying the human brain and its functions. Supposedly only 14% of the US population can see her spinning in both directions.--Source (Where What How  Why, April 2008).

No one is totally left-brained or totally right-brained. Just as we have a dominant hand, dominant eye, and even a dominant foot, we probably have a dominant side of the brain.

We can and must develop both sides of our brains.

So say the experts.

I'm right handed dominate, right eye dominate, left foot dominate...

I think the second picture my be distorted because I'm right eye dominated.  The first one is due to my left foot dominate?  LMAO

Is there a middle brain thinker? Because I'm one of them. I'm like 3x smarter.

I took two more test and I'm split pretty even.  One test reported 60% right 40% left and another test show 50% left and 51% right (LOL@101%).  I've taken plenty of personality test and I've always been split on being an introvert and extrovert (around <55% introvert/>45% extrovert).  I'm typically a passive laid back nice guy, but if I sense you aren't playing nice I turn on the assertive beast and he takes over...very draining if I play the extrovert role...I try to avoid it.

I took the jung test, and the brigs test and etc...  Forgot what my diagram or those thing were but if PH didn't delete it, the assessment should be on PH somewhere.  ;)

That would be those who see her go both ways.

Being one type doesn't mean one is more intelligent or smarter than the other. Intelligence has yet to be honed through education, remember? lol All left-brainers have uneven levels of intelligence; same goes for right-brainers. Those in between can only claim that they can switch both ways, not that they actually have a higher intelligence simply because of that alone.

I'm not even sure if these test would withstand a rigorous assessment.

I can see her spinning both ways depending on where I focus first, her arms or feet.
