How would you know that you were past lovers?  Scenario seems unlikely.

i assume that a love that great surpasses all the realities of the cosmos to tell great awesome lovers how great snd awesome their love is. thats how great awesome lovers know how great and awesome their love is.

there is no one/right answer to this question...... .............. .............. .............. ..why do people even try to answer this? each to their own.....

I'm not asking for a "right" or "wrong" answer. I just wanted to see what the majority of people think about this question. :)

what if your ex changed or better him/her self in the mean time and concentrated hard on career and doing good deeds to the world?

also the ex is even hotter with a lot of money too?

the future can be scary but you can't always run to the past because it familiar.
keep moving forward and improve yourself to be better for the next person.
but do what you want to do cause its your life, you can be the only to make that decision for yourself.

risk your current relationship for a past love and why?

It depends on the situation for everyone...

But here's what I think.  If the ex was truly an ex (like you had a relationship with him) then, no, I would not go back to him no matter how unhappy I was in my current relationship.  If the ex was a love interest that I didn't have the opportunity to explore and I was unhappy in my current relationship then maybe I'll get to know the ex(friend) a little better and see if we have things in common and can build on anything.  Otherwise, if I was happy with my current relationship, I will not be risking my relationship for any ex.  Things happen in life the way they do for a reason.
