Meh. American weddings....if you have the cash go for it. Or if you don't mind taking out loans go for it.

Personally, she can have whatever she wants but I prefer to skip the wedding altogether and be in a domesticated relationship.

I would have a combination of both if I could choose. There are aspects of both Hmong and American weddings that I would want in my wedding. ;)

My thinking is if you have to ask the elders to get married, you should please them first.

An american wedding just seems to me to be pleasing the ones getting married if both are hmong of course.
