The Selfish Gene
« on: January 04, 2012, 11:48:32 AM »
The selfish gene theory blows me away.  It was written in 1976.  Finally, it help me understand animals and human behaviors.  I strongly encourage everyone to read it.

do you also wondered, if...."especially in kin relationships: when an individual sacrifices its own life to protect the lives of kin, it is acting in the interest of its own genes..." still applicable in our hmong people these days?  ::)

take those hmong that came from laos due to the war, the parents made great accomplishment s so their genes survive.  :)

It's so cool.

I like many of the stories in the book.  I never knew such thing exists in the ants and in the animal kingdoms.

I call it "identity". People stick with things and those whom they can "identify" with and not always because they intentionally mean to discriminate. Examples of this behavior is boundless in our society.

didn't you know that hmong saying that "zoo li tus liab los yog yus nplooj siab"  ;D ;D :P

This explains why I don't think any babies are cute unless they belonged to my siblings and they had to look like my mom or dad, but as usual, I already knew that.

That's interesting...

I've always wonder why love is such a selfish act.

Relaxed.  This is just drunk talk.  No need to get butt hurt.  If you are, feel free to add to my counter of butts hurt to the left AKA smites.
