Why are Hmong buffet restaurants always failed?
« on: January 13, 2012, 03:39:39 PM »
Many Hmong business owners don't realize that investing in buffet restaurant business targeting the Hmong will be always failed!

Do you agree with above statement and why?

Why?

Because Hmong don't support Hmong or what? Foods are not good enough?

What's your idea? Why it's always failed!

You can't cater to own nationality if that nationality is limited in number to begin with.

There are several thousand Hmong families in Minnesota, that should be enough? Is it?

Why are Hmong non-buffet restaurants doing great?

If you cater only to Hmong people, you already lost majority of your customers before you even start.  Plus, being Hmong, why would you go and eat food that you can cook on your own.  When people go out they want food they can not get at home.

You see Hmong every where in Chinese buffet restaurants? Is it good or bad?

I usually go out to Hmong buffet restaurant most of the time, but now I kind of feel sorry for the business owner. So now I don't go to Hmong buffet, instead I just go to Hmong non-buffet. HEHE!

To start a restaurant you have to know how to cook too. Majority of people do not know how to cook good foods but yet they want to open up a restaurant because they want to make some $$$. Then they opened a restaurant but yet nothing special on the menu. Same foods just like any other buffet. If hmong and chinese cook the same foods, I rather go to the chinese. Not that I am not a hmong supporter but if I am spending $$$, i want to eat something good.

Hmong people eat too much.  So buffet are losing money instead of making money.

You got it! That's it.

Hmong buffets will always fail! Don't do it, unless you are targeting the white Meka people. Targeting the Hmong people will always fail. Period........ ...

For buffet and targeting the Hmong people, the better foods you have the faster your business are going to fail. Period......

It's a suicide mission.

You get customers, you die.
No customers, you die.

So What?

Low under the table pay.

Very good for my profits.

What are you talking about? The food we eat are already cost more than what you originally bought from. Don't even talk about labor yet.
