Hmongtown should change career because insurance companies are part of the DOG EAT DOG WORLD all by themselves, too.  The little guys bringing case to court for a few hundreds or thousands dollars?  Why not?  Money is money, right?  Money is money for the insurance companies too.  You'll scrap all you can to stay afloat, right?  Isn't that what they little guys have in mind as well?  Don't blame the little guys or attorneys or chiropractors.  They all are in for themselves, too  :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:.

I'd rather be loathed for who I am than loved for who I am not.

Truth be told:

Most Hmong insurance business fail due their lack of expertise in their field.  They only see how they going to conquer today and not tomorrow.  They always want  to be the jack of all trades but master of none...your one stop shop where you can get your insurance done, file your income tax and able to buy that two bags of rice.

BUT just because there are a few bad apples doesn't mean that the hole tree is not good.  If you simply continue to be open minded and not prejudge all Hmong businesses, you will find them.  Here is a hint,  they definitely are not the ones you hear constantly on the news or radio pitching a sale.  They are already too busy giving their customer that attention that is needed because they believe in customer retention.

Ya I totally believe in what you say. They are thing for short term rather then going for long term. Most of Hmong businessmen are busy in their own work that dont have time for other thing.

I don't think that it's the agent that fails, I believe its the community that fails to understand what auto, home, and life insurance really does for you. So Hmong people and the community treat insurance as some kind of materalistic value when it isn't. Insurance is something that protects you from loose and damage. That's why you're so angry at insurance agencies and companys aren't you??

I have to disagree with you on this...it is the agent or broker who is knowledgeable and they have the ability to educate the public one customer at a time.  What I have been seeing to often, is that a handfull of agent or broker are hurting for a sale so they do what they must do...that is sale anything.  At the end of the day, it is the consumers who looses.

What can we do as consumers?  Ask questions, compare one agent or broker to the next agent or broker.  The more you know, the better you are becoming a good consumer.

Being hmong in the insurance field means nothing.  Selling insurance is a difficult task, especially in this economy where everyone is trying to save a dollar.

First of all if you are a independent insurance agent.  The only reason you fail is if you are a bad salesman and cant drum up any sales.

If you are trying to get to the 'big name' insurance offices such as State Farm, Farmers, American Family,....then their sales policies will make you fail.  Big name insurance companies expect sales increases all the time.  If you dont meet the quota....you get fired.

I have thoroughly talked to different agents, relatives in the business, and online research.  Just thought i'd give my two cents in, seeing all this bad info on here is disheartening.  A simple google search and there are a ton of info available.
