Not expecting too much and having no expectation is different. There is no such thing as a perfect person. Everyone has baggage, it's just a matter of what kind of baggage. If you are referring to people with children, their imperfections are no different then a person without children. Therefore, there's nothing wrong with them having expectations, having expectations doesn't necessarily mean the other person has to be the exact copy of what a person expects. There are different levels of expectations and or expectations can be altered depending on people and their experiences.

Imperfections come from all angles. There is not a certain list. Everyone make mistakes, that's how we learn. One person's imperfection may be acceptable for another, while it is not for others...it's based on personal preference and acceptance.
